Bobu and George helped us adopt 2 kidoes.

Alexandra Goode, age 93, of Texarkana, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2023.
“Babu” (short for Babushka) as she was affectionately known, was born September 13, 1929 in a Russian community located in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. She was a Holocaust survivor who spent four months at Dachau and nine months in the labor camp at Rugen. Shortly before the war’s end, she escaped the labor camp only to spend another three years in a displaced person’s camp near Lubeck, Germany. Finally, having lost her entire family in the war, at the age of 18 she immigrated to the United States via Elis Island.
After raising her three children, Alexandra opened her own travel agency, but her most fulfilling work began when she was 70. Along with her husband George, she founded International Guardian Angels Adoption Agency which placed over 250 children (mostly from Russia) into loving homes here in the U.S. That work continued into Alexandra’s 80’s only stopping when the Russian government suspended foreign adoptions.She encouraged people with her story by speaking to thousands over the years about the Lord’s faithfulness.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, George Goode; her parents, Gen. Georg and Elena Maderash; her twin brother, Valoydsa, her brother, Egor and one grandson, Buddy Goode.
Left to celebrate her well-lived life is one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Dr. Richard Hornok of Texarkana, Texas, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Steve and Joan Goode of Keller, Texas, Mark and Pam Goode of Cleveland, Ohio, eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a number of other cherished relatives, and hundreds of others to whom she was Babu!
The family will receive friends in Texarkana Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Fellowship Bible Church.
On Saturday March 18, 2023 visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
A graveside service will be 10:30 A. M. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, with Dr. Richard Hornok officiating. A Memorial Celebration Service will be 1:30 P.M. Saturday at Lake Pointe Church, Firewheel Campus in Garland, Texas.
This code uses a Atiny85 under Arduino gui:
#include <avr/sleep.h>
const int inputPin = 2; // replace with the input pin connected to the voltage divider
const int outputPin = 3; // replace with the output pin connected to the loadvoid setup() {
pinMode(inputPin, INPUT);
pinMode(outputPin, OUTPUT);
digitalWrite(outputPin, HIGH); // ensure the load is not grounded initially
}void loop() {
// Measure voltage on input pin
float voltage = analogRead(inputPin) * 0.0049; // convert from ADC value to voltage// If voltage is below 2V, ground the output pin and go into deep sleep
if (voltage < 2.0) {
digitalWrite(outputPin, LOW);
delay(100); // ensure the load is fully grounded before sleeping
set_sleep_mode(SLEEP_MODE_PWR_DOWN);
sleep_enable();
sleep_mode();
sleep_disable();
}// Sleep for 1 day
delay(86400000); // 24 * 60 * 60 * 1000 = 1 day
}

1/ Most people would rather be in the majority, than be right.
2/ At least 20% of the population has strong authoritarian tendencies, which will emerge under the right conditions.
3/ Fear of death is only rivalled by the fear of social disapproval. The latter could be stronger.
4/ Propaganda is just as effective in the modern day as it was 100 years ago. Access to limitless information has not made the average person any wiser.
5/ Anything and everything can and will be politicised by the media, government, and those who trust them.
6/ Many politicians and large corporations will gladly sacrifice human lives if it is conducive to their political and financial aspirations.
7/ Most people believe the government acts in the best interests of the people. Even many who are vocal critics of the government.
8/ Once they have made up their mind, most people would rather to commit to being wrong, than admit they were wrong.
9/ Humans can be trained and conditioned quickly and relatively easily to significantly alter their behaviours – for better or worse.
10/ When sufficiently frightened, most people will not only accept authoritarianism, but demand it.
11/ People who are dismissed as ‘conspiracy theorists’ are often well researched and simply ahead of the mainstream narrative.
12/ Most people value safety and security more than freedom and liberty, even if said ‘safety’ is merely an illusion.
13/ Hedonic adaptation occurs in both directions, and once inertia sets in, it is difficult to get people back to ‘normal’.
14/ A significant % of people thoroughly enjoy being subjugated.
15/ ‘The Science’ has evolved into a secular pseudo-religion for millions of people in the West. This religion has little to do with science itself.
16/ Most people care more about looking like they are doing the right thing, rather than actually doing the right thing.
17/ Politics, the media, science, and the healthcare industries are all corrupt, to varying degrees. Scientists and doctors can be bought as easily as politicians.
18/ If you make people comfortable enough, they will not revolt. You can keep millions docile as you strip their rights, by giving them money, food, and entertainment.
19/ Modern people are overly complacent and lack vigilance when it comes to defending their own freedoms from government overreach.
20/ It’s easier to fool a person than to convince them that they have been fooled.
Bonus thought: 21/ Most people are fairly compassionate and have good intentions (this is good)
As a result, most people deeply struggle to understand that some people, including our ‘leaders’, CAN have malicious or perverse intentions (this is bad).”

Aeronca 7AC Champion “Champ” N82258 S/N 886
The Aeronca Aircraft Corporation (AERONauticalCorperation of America) Produced 7,200 of 7AC “Champs” in 1945 to 1948. Derivative models are still produced today, as late as 2024.
The 7AC is a sought after antique, with thousands of flying example still airworthy.
The Heffley Family airframe is a Model 7AC, powered by a Continental A65. Superior cylinders were fit during the rebuild.

2006_02_08ChampPaintGoneBad
This is what happens when the paint process goes horrably wrong. This is the result of not sanding the primer after the last cote of primer. This video shows the paint peeling right off. We followed the STC exactly, and applied the first color coat over the last primer coat with no sanding. This is not wise, as we now know. Airtech markets its product as process that requires little sanding. While it is true that you are not required to sand as as much as Stitts, it still requires the coats to be “scuffed”.

The Ailerons, and Elevators/Stabilizers, (not the rudder) installed on a spit for painting.
2005_12_29_ChampPaintBooth
We built a paint booth (Larger) from discarded metal studs and plastic sheeting. The intake is a 24″x24″x1″ AC filter with a box fan. (lowerLeft corner of the picture). The outlet is a filter connected to 1/4 of a LARGE cooling fan. This evacuates the booth, as well creates a draft in the hangar that cause overspray to go west out the doors. Interestingly, the outlet fan filter FILLS up every time we paint. No overspray anywhere in the hangar though……
These are the cable fairleads
that will provide a cosmetic closeout for the rudder cables as they exit the Fusalage under the stabilizers.
2005_11_27ChampWingSpit
This is the wing installed on the completed spit (larger). Copied from a comercial design, The rollers (larger) are metal lawn mower wheels with the tires cut off. The hoop is 1/2 inch electrical conduit bent with a conduit bender.
The wing spit is a complete success, allowing the wing to be coated fully on both sides without a 1 day wait for paint to dry. If we had to do it all over, 1″ conduit would have been stronger. Also, the rollers could have been lower, allowing the wing to be 3 inches lower to the ground.
2005_10_15ChampGear
Here is a Sectioned (larger) gear oleo and strut. We used this for a reminder of how all the parts came apart!
The Gear Case Frames almost ready to paint. We included the
tabs for the snare cables, even though the AD is complied with……
2005_03_18_ChampStrutPress
This press ended up not being required, as the gear did not need to be “Pulled” apart.
2005_01_08_ChampRightBrake
We disassembled one brake at a time, as they are quite complicated. Assembled, Inside
Exploded.
